BAILEY & BAILEY | WEDDING RECEPTION @ THE ROSE
Nicole Henshaw Photography

Joy is defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. That word is what comes to mind when I see how the newlyweds, Bailey and Bailey, look at each other. Being that both the Bride and Groom have the same first name, they quickly started referring to each other as “Mr. Bailey” and “Mrs. Bailey.”
Mr. Bailey proposed to Mrs. Bailey while on a trip to Granby. The couple had planned to celebrate Mrs. Bailey’s birthday along her mom’s birthday. The trip was to include a couple golf days to include a course at Granby Ranch. Grandy Ranch features a wedding ceremony site at the top of one of the ski lifts on the property. The two rode to the top to take in the view. While atop the mountain overlooking the rolling golf course below them Mr. Bailey got down on his knee and proposed.
Fast forward to their wedding day – October 1, 2021. The couple had the ideal weather for their wedding with beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures. The Bride and Groom took advantage of the getting rooms at The Rose event center in Golden, CO. The gentlemen dressed in navy blue suits. The Groom sported a white tie, fashioned in a very ornate fashion, while the groomsmen wore blush pink ties. The Bride and bridesmaids slipped into their dresses. The Bride’s dress was beautifully simplistic, but fit the bride and her laid back personality perfectly. The bridesmaids wore flowing dresses in light pink. The Bride and Groom shared a private moment in the State Room upstairs for their first look where they exchanged cards. The wedding party then joined the Bride and Groom for some pre-ceremony photos. A party bus then transported the wedding party to Applewood Golf Course for their outdoor wedding ceremony.
Upon their return to The Rose event center, the couple found the venue transformed from a concert hall to a rustic indoor garden. Guest tables were adorned with ivory table linens, navy napkins draped in a waterfall fold, and special-order rustic whitewash x-back chairs. Short, round vases with assorted white, blush, and pink flowers and small votive candles adorned the round tables while 2 large floral arrangements with the same flower assortment and various cylinder vases with floating candles adorned the 2 rectangular tables. The cylinder vases with floating candles were also used on the elevated built-in booth tables. The light from these candles wrapped the reception in a warm glow as the evening passed.
Guest enjoyed stationed and passed hors d’oeuvres for Cocktail Hour including Chimichurri Beef Flatbread Crostini’s, Mac-n-Cheese Sticks, and Mushroom Tarts and were treated to a hosted bar featuring a signature cocktail named after the couple’s cat Lynx. Dinner was a plated meal featuring flatiron steak, salmon, or a vegetarian entrée option. The 3-tiered wedding cake was provided by a friend of the Bride and Groom and featured 2 flavor options – a red velvet and lemon-poppyseed with a white chocolate butter cream.
DJ Davis provided an energetic playlist for the reception keeping the dancefloor packed for the rest of the evening. The dance party included a “soul train line” where guests formed two lines with a space in the middle for dancers to strut down and dance, a conga line which was led by the Bride, a bouquet toss, and spirited garter toss.
The sendoff of the newlyweds consisted of guests lining up outside of the venue with individual lavender sachets. The small blossoms were tossed towards the heavens as the couple passed though the tunnel of well-wishers. The couple departed to the Golden Hotel – just a block from the venue for a quick wardrobe change before heading off to the Ace-Hi for their after party.
