ASHLEY & NICHOLAS | A WEDDING @ THE ROSE WEDDING
Michael Hystead Photography

Wedding couples are often looking for ways to wow their guests, keep them entertained, and have FUN. For Ashley and Nicholas’ wedding – this was a priority and something that I could tell was a reflection of who they are as a couple.
Let’s rewind a bit to the proposal – Nicholas proposed to Ashley with a handwritten card while playing a friendly game of “What Do You Meme?” at their house-warming party. Fast-forward to our first meeting – our beautiful bride Ashley walks in with this amazing teal-colored hair. As we toured the newly remodeled venue of The Rose the couple just became more and more excited and laughter filled the air. Ideas began to flow and things started becoming very real – they each began to envision their wedding in this space. Whereas many brides would be a little cautious being the first wedding to book at a new venue – Ashley and Nicholas were all for it.
The couple chose to marry on a Sunday, which allowed them to save quite a bit of money on their venue rental and the bride’s mother took on putting together the wedding’s decor. Navy blue, plum, and teal shades brought a sense of royal opulence to the celebration. These colors outfitted the wedding party, bloomed in the bridal bouquets, adorned the guest’s tables, and even iced their cupcakes.
As I mentioned up above, Ashley and Nicholas wanted to entertain their guests. As the ceremony music began to play the wedding party walked in together in pairs to “That Girl” by Justin Timberlake. The groomsman snapped in sync with the music as they escorted the bridesmaids down the aisle and took their position up on stage. The groom Nicholas then came out onto the stage and began lip-syncing to the song as the wedding party swayed rhythmically. The climactic entrance ended with the groom down on one knee pointing to where his bride would enter as he mouthed the last words to the song, ” I’m in love with that girl”.
Guests were invited into The Lobby for Cocktail Hour as the room was “flipped” from ceremony to reception setup. Dinner consisted of a hearty buffet of two different kinds of pasta, salad, vegetables, and bread. Cake cutting came a short while later…it seemed as though this was following the same format for any other wedding, until…
“The Git Up” by Blanco Brown began playing which cued the wedding party to start a flash mob to the newly popular line dance that goes along with the song. Just as with any flash mob, guests were a little shocked at first, but were up and dancing by the song’s end.
What a truly fun wedding full of unique and memorable moments. A BIG thank you to the newlyweds, Ashley and Nicholas, for allowing The Rose and All Four Seasons Events to be a part of your day and for trusting is our talented team to execute your wedding just as you had envisioned it. Cheers to you both.
