They say you don’t marry the person you can live with; you marry the person you can’t live without. That sums up Brenna and John perfectly. Not to mention, this couple is fun-loving, out-going, and fashionable – John loves wearing hats, most often a bowler hat. Little did we know, this would even play into guests’ fashion on their wedding day.

Brenna and John began planning their wedding during the pandemic which caused the guest count permitted by the state to fluctuate, but they were determined to find a way to surround themselves with family and friends at their nuptials and their joyous reception. At times this required flexibility with the vision for their wedding and a restructuring of the floor plan for their reception. Luckily two weeks prior to their wedding the state lifted regulations just enough to allow everyone who wanted to be able to attend.

Brenna and John were married at Cornerstone Boulder with their reception to follow at The Rose event center in Golden. The reception venue was decorated with an incredible mixture of jewel-toned colors – purple, navy, and stunning gold highlights. The dress code for the event was Black Tie, so guests showed up in stunning formal ware and one guest even showed wearing a top hat – in honor of the Groom’s constant hat wearing. Guests enjoyed a variety of stationed and passed hors d’oevures before being sat for a plated dinner with their choice of flat iron steak, grilled salmon, or a quinoa stuffed poblano. In lieu of a traditional cake cutting, the Bride and Groom opted instead for a pie cutting since they prefer pie to cake. Their dessert table featured a variety of pies from Granny Scott’s pie shop.
