Katie and Nick are the quintessential fairytale couple. Katie is petite with beautiful blonde hair and Nick is tall and slender with dark hair and eyes; not to mention they are also kind and generous. I can actually picture them as the characters to any fairytale story that could be told over the course of history. So, I find it quite fitting that when I think of their Spring wedding reception it reminds me of a grand reception that would appear in a fairytale.

The night before their wedding a few inches of heavy snow fell, so in the morning the trees and shrubs were shrouded in a pristine blanket of white. As the day progressed and warmed up, the snow melted leaving behind budding branches and spring blossoms just beginning to peak out.
Katie and Nick were married at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Denver. Afterwards guests and the newlyweds departed for The Rose event center in downtown Golden for their reception.

Guests entered the event space to find a truly remarkable space. The back of the stage had been covered with a wall of up-lit white pipe and drape and white fabric adorned with small white lights draped from the ceiling. Stationed and passed hors d’oeuvres and a hosted bar kept guests’ content as they waited for their Bride and Groom to arrive.

When called to dinner, guests found their assigned seats for the upcoming plated dinner at elegantly adorned tables with ivory linens and lilac napkins. Candelabras of varying heights grounded each table as its centerpiece bathing each table with a romantic glow. Dinner service was executed quickly which consisted of both a pre-set salad with bread followed by entrée selections of either grilled salmon, mole chicken, or NY steak. A spirited round of toasts and well-wishes to the couple wrapped up dinner which then eased into a fun cake cutting.

Katie and Nick were then called to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife – again, the vision of these two dancing together reminded me of a prince and princess effortlessly gliding across the dance floor. The rest of the evening seemed to pass all too quickly as guests laughed and celebrated with the newlyweds.

Upon their exit I was honored to give them both a hug and see them head off as Mr. & Mrs. in their chauffeured car. Again, I found myself mesmerized and amazed by their grace and charm. This was a magical, heartwarming, and endearing wedding. Cheers to the happy couple, Katie & Nick.
