KRISTEN & NEIL | BLACKSTONE RIVERS RANCH WEDDING

If all of Colorado’s signature beauty could be captured in one wedding post, Kristen and Neil’s gallery might be the summary of such splendor. Aspen and pine trees, moss-covered rocks, a gently flowing creek and outdoor mountain settings, metals, and greenery in the design and an adoring couple all captured in a way that conveys emotion and sentiment so beautifully.

I remember when Kristen first reached out about coordination services. As she spoke it became very clear that she and her fiancé Neil wanted to focus on having a fun party with their friends and family.  They did not want to put too much pressure on the day and ruin it.  However, they did want to ensure that their wedding was as memorable for their guests as it would be for them.

Their wedding day was peppered with rain showers, but Kristen had her heart set on getting married outside by the creek.  As the hour drew near for the ceremony to begin there was a brief break in the weather, so we seized the moment and began the processional.  The couple took position underneath a suspended wreath of pampas grass where they received the Blessing of the Apaches and exchanged personal vows.  The pine tree canopy above the ceremonial pad and the amphitheater-style seating for the guests seemed to encompass the bride and groom in a bubble of warmth and love.

A lingering rain shower caused cocktail hour to move guests under the tent prematurely, but as the evening progressed and the skies cleared guests began to explore the grounds and some even participated in friendly games of cornhole.  Heartfelt toasts to the newlyweds preceded a bountiful dinner buffet and cake-cutting was followed by the sharing of a Native American wedding vase.  The night ended with a crowded dance floor full of celebratory guests waving multi-colored glow sticks.

Regardless of the rain, it would seem as though Kristen and Neil were successful in their mission to have a wedding focused on fun with family and friends.  The bride echoed this achievement in an email following their return from their honeymoon:

“We can’t thank you enough for everything you did on our wedding day. Truly blown away by you!!! Despite the rain, I did not feel stressed at all. The day did not fly by as everyone says. We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated each moment, each conversation, each dance. And I have you to largely thank for that. I remember meeting my mom on the dance floor and she was laughing, dancing, having the best time. And I know that would have not been the case if you had not been there. Every little “inconvenience” was quickly put to a halt and allowed us to just ENJOY the day with our dearest family and friends. I am still glowing!!! It couldn’t have been more perfect. After the reception, Neil and I staying up until 3 in the morning just talking about every memory we had gathered from the day *enjoying pasta you provided* smiling ear-to-ear with pure happiness.”

So congratulations to the newlyweds and bravo for filling your wedding with love, laughter, intimate moments and joy.  Cheers!
