STEPH & ERIC | SPRUCE MOUNTAIN RANCH WEDDING
Meigan Canfield Photography
Before you walk down the aisle, pause. Breathe. Take it all in. So much thought, effort, and energy goes into planning your wedding that when the day finally comes you sometimes need to be reminded to enjoy it. We strive to remind you to do just that. We love doing what we do because it allows our couples, their families, and their guests to be present in the moment and fully experience everything that their wedding day has to offer.
Steph and Eric’s wedding incorporated unique elements set against the beautiful backdrop that only Spruce Mountain Ranch can offer. The rustic venue with its hand-crafted detail was decked out for this celebration. A color palette of navy blue, beige, and rose gold complimented the venue’s natural vibe while also playing off the perfect summer sky and beautiful mountain backdrop. Petals Colorado did a gorgeous job with the flowers, greenery swags for the tables, and arbor decoration at the ceremony site. Elite Entertainment graced the entrances with swags of drape and Edison bulb-lighting above the King’s table.
Steph and Eric planned for a number of memorable moments with which their guests to interact – and each one was a success! The guests’ anticipation built as hand-crafted doors were opened and the bride began her walk down the aisle at the Trey Vista ceremony site – a vast grassed vista on the upper ranch with spectacular views and peaceful surroundings. The couple then utilized a blowtorch and branding iron for their unity ceremony where they branded a thick slice of wood, which then became their guestbook, with a custom monogram. The fun continued through dinner to cake cutting where it appeared that the knife to be used to cut the cake had been misplaced. Luckily, the bride had a custom knife (a gift from one of the guests) strapped to the calf of her leg.
My favorite moment was the surprise that Steph herself had prepared. Since she was joining a family with 2 young boys, Steph surprised them (and her fiancé) with vows written specifically for them. The officiant and I knew about it, but no one else did. After Steph said her vows to Eric, she then began her vows to the boys:

“Although you are not flesh of my flesh or bone from my bone,
you are still miraculously my very own.
My love for you is a bond that took time to create,
but it is not one that can be erased.”
The love shared within this family brought tears to boys’ eyes, the groom’s, and to many of the guests. This ceremony became much more than just the union of a man to a woman, but that of a woman becoming a mother. It was absolutely heartwarming! All of this was captured beautifully thru the lens of Meigan Canfield Photography and in video by Aflatis Films.
This wedding captured so much of many couples aspire to have…memorable moments, surrounded by family and friends, good food, great music, laughter, and even a rainbow!
Many thanks to Steph and Eric for an unforgettable wedding. You graced us with the opportunity to pause, breathe, and take it all in. Cheers!
